Future Bright for Online Poker, According to PlayPokerOnline.com

The closures on online poker sites brought online poker gaming in the US to a standstill, but the recent months have shown a revival of interest.

NEW YORK, NY, August 26, 2011 /Public Relations PR News/ -- Despite the stunning move by the US Department of Justice to close down many of the top poker sites operating in the country and the subsequent migration of key poker players to neighboring countries, it seems the future does seem promising for online poker. PlayPokerOnline examines some of the happenings since the closure on April 15.

Over the few months that have passed since Black Friday, as the day is now known, a number of voices have sprung up in favor of online poker. Earlier, a number of ads were streamed on radio and TV that posed debates over whether online gambling should be allowed in the US. In fact, many politicians have expressed their views in favor of legalizing the game in the country, which they believe will bring in money to the country, which is yet to come out of the debt crisis.

In a recent interview, the Chief Executive Officer of Caesar's Entertainment, the world's largest gaming company, revealed that it is no more a question of whether the US will allow its citizens to play online poker but that of when it will be allowed. The CEO also stated that legalizing online poker will not only enable people to play poker again, it will also provide employment for thousands in a country where unemployment is now rampant.

Another move that could probably work in favor of online poker occurred in California, where a legislation proposed by State Sen. Lou Correa was backed by the COPA (California Online Poker Association). With more than half the country's total number of poker players based in California, the proposed legislation, it is believed, would create the single largest market for playing online poker.

In what could be the biggest advantage for online poker, president Obama has assigned a Super Committee of 12 men and women and has entrusted them with the job of raising $1.5 trillion. With some of the members of this committee being well-known advocates of legalizing online gambling, there is some chance that online poker sites will be able to get back into action very soon and players can play poker online again. The fact that the committee has been given absolute power makes this possibility even bigger.
