Jennifer Steel Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who
Jennifer Steel is the first nurse in the Harvey Canal Industry Association to become president
MARRERO, LA, July 1, 2009 /Public Relations PR News/ -- Jennifer Steel, Public Information Officer for West Jefferson Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of public relations.
Ms. Steel has 38 years of professional experience and 20 years in her current position. Her responsibilities as public information officer include overseeing community and public relations, marketing, organizing community education outreach and seniors programs and acting as a liaison between the auxillary and volunteer service. She is the chairwoman of the Community Cancer Program Public Outreach Committee and attributes her success to her faith in God and to the support she receives from her colleagues. Ms. Steel became inspired to be a nurse when her childhood friend died of cancer at the age of eight.
A certified CPR instructor, Ms. Steel received her Diploma in Nursing in 1975, from Touro Infirmary School of Nursing. She is a member of Rotary International and a board member of the Jefferson Council on Aging. Voted the number one honoree of Louisiana's Great 100 Nurses, she received the Spirit Award from the American Cancer Society and the Phillip Demure Award for Special Service to the Harvey Canal Industrial Association during Hurricane Katrina.
